Infrastructure service contract
How a global retailer put its datacentre servers under one SLA-backed infrastructure service contract, with first-level on-site escalation support and spares in place before anything fails.
Build · IT infrastructure
Data centre and colocation services for Indian organisations that need to know, and choose, where their servers physically run. NetScale assesses each system’s location against what regulators and customers require, then designs, moves and supports the capacity, including colocation with Yotta. Every move is a fixed-scope phase with a tested rollback plan.
Data Centre and Colocation
Data centre and colocation is where your servers physically run: in your own server room or data centre, or in a colocation facility in India.
Colocation means you own the hardware, and the facility provides the space, power, cooling and connectivity. NetScale designs, moves and supports both, and writes down where every system and backup sits.
The servers and storage themselves, sized and supported, sit under Enterprise IT infrastructure.
Choosing a cloud region for residency sits under Cloud security and compliance.
Backups, and restores tested on a schedule, sit under Remote infrastructure management (RIM).
Hosting was chosen on price, and it worked. Your regulator now asks where the data physically sits. Can you name the location?
Our answer: Data residency
The server room was built for the first floor. Who has checked its power and cooling since?
Our answer: Server rooms and data centres
Colocation was compared on rack price. Who checked the power and connectivity behind it?
Our answer: Colocation in India
A customer contract now asks for data hosted in India. Which systems would pass that check?
Our answer: Data centre and colocation
Data centre services, including India-based capacity where data residency matters.
Design, refresh and support of server rooms and data centres, including racks, power, UPS and network cabling, assessed site by site.
Rack space, power, cooling and connectivity in an India-based facility, including Yotta, with your hardware moved in fixed-scope phases.
A written record of where every system, backup and log store physically sits, checked against what your regulator, parent company and customers require.
Each phase adds a layer to the same estate.
You can stop at any phase boundary. The assessment is free, and each phase is priced in writing before it starts. How we engage
Where a regulator, parent company or customer requires data in India, it is placed in India-based capacity, including colocation with Yotta. The location of every system and backup is written into the design.
The RBI’s direction of 6 April 2018 requires payment system operators to store payment data only in India. Under Rule 13(4) of the DPDP Rules, Significant Data Fiduciaries can be required to keep personal data the government specifies within India. Legal interpretation stays with your counsel.

The Directions of 28 April 2022 require logs of all ICT systems to be kept within India for a rolling 180 days. Where the log store sits is part of the residency design.
Rack count, and the power density each rack needs.
Connectivity: carriers, cross-connects and the level of redundancy required.
Migration scope: how many systems move, in what order and in which cut-over windows.
Support at the facility: remote hands, engineer visits and spares held nearby.
The most relevant engagement, with its numbers. Client names and the full write-up are shared in conversation.

In cloud you rent compute and storage and own none of the hardware. Many estates use both. The assessment says which systems suit which, and why, in writing.
It depends on your sector, your contracts and whether you are a Significant Data Fiduciary. The DPDP Act does not require all personal data to stay in India. The RBI requires payment system data to be stored only in India, and CERT-In logs stay in India for 180 days. Legal interpretation stays with your counsel.
It depends on what the room can still deliver: power, cooling, physical security and connectivity for the load you run. The assessment checks each against what your systems need. Some estates keep a small room for local systems and move the rest. The recommendation comes in writing.
In fixed-scope phases, system by system. Each phase has a tested rollback plan before it starts, and the cut-over window is agreed in writing with the business. The order follows what each system depends on, and nothing moves to the next phase until the current one is signed off.
We do, under one owner with the rest of the estate. Remote infrastructure management covers monitoring and restores tested on a schedule, and an engineer takes escalations in the support window agreed in writing. Spares and on-site visits are part of the contract where the estate needs them.
It costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You get a written list of where your IT environment is exposed, and your team can act on it with or without us.
