Cloud migration to Microsoft Azure, in phases, with rollback plans.
Cloud migration and modernisation for Indian enterprises moving workloads and data to Microsoft Azure. NetScale assesses and cost-models each workload, then moves it in fixed-scope phases, tested at each stage. Every phase has a rollback plan written before it starts, and each is signed off before the next begins.

What it is
Cloud Migration
Cloud migration is moving workloads and data from your own servers or data centre to the cloud, in fixed-scope phases.
For each workload, the assessment decides whether to rehost it as it is, replatform it, modernise it or retire it. Application modernisation changes how an application runs so it uses cloud services, rather than moving it unchanged.
Each phase is tested before go-live, not after. Nothing moves to the next phase until the current one is signed off.
Deciding what moves, and the cost model behind it, sits under Cloud consulting and architecture.
Running the environment and its bill after go-live sits under Managed cloud and cost optimisation.

The last migration was done in one big cutover. Testing happened after go-live, not before. What is the plan if the next one fails halfway?
Our answer: Clear rollback plans

The data transfer window was a guess. What did the business lose while it ran?
Our answer: Data transfer

The application was moved as it was. Does it run any better in the cloud?

Nobody mapped what talks to what. Which system breaks when the first one moves?
Our answer: Phased migration
What we do.
Migration, application modernisation and data transfer, phased with testing at each stage and clear rollback plans.
- 01
Phased migration
Workloads moved in fixed-scope phases, in an order set by what each system depends on, each phase signed off before the next begins.
- 02
Application modernisation
Each application rehosted, replatformed or rebuilt on cloud services, decided workload by workload from the assessment and its cost model.
- 03
Data transfer
Data moved in a transfer window the business can accept, encrypted in transit and checked for completeness before cutover.
- 04
Testing at each stage
Functional, performance and security tests run in the cloud before go-live, with the results written up for sign-off.
- 05
Clear rollback plans
A rollback plan for every phase, written and tested before the phase starts, so a failed step can be reversed to the last working state.
How an engagement runs.
Each phase adds a layer to the same estate.
You can stop at any phase boundary. The assessment is free, and each phase is priced in writing before it starts. How we engage
India specifics and cost.
India specifics
- CERT-In
The Directions of 28 April 2022 require logs kept within India for a rolling 180 days, with clocks synchronised to NIC or NPL. Migrated workloads log to a store that meets both from the first phase.
- DPDP
Personal data is encrypted in transit and at rest during the transfer, and access to it is logged. The DPDP Rules list encryption, access control and logging among the security safeguards. Legal interpretation stays with your counsel.

- Data residency
Data that must stay in India moves only to Microsoft Azure’s India regions, and each workload’s target region is fixed in the plan before its transfer starts.
What drives the cost
- 01
Workload count, and how many are rehosted, replatformed or retired.
- 02
Data volume, and the transfer window the business can accept.
- 03
Application modernisation: how many applications change, and how far.
- 04
Phases and cutover windows, and the testing each one needs.

How much does a cloud migration cost in India?
It depends on workload count, data volume and how much is modernised rather than moved. The assessment produces a cost model per phase before you commit, and each phase is priced and signed off separately. The assessment itself costs nothing, and the findings are yours.
How long does a cloud migration take?
It depends on how many workloads move, how much data they carry and how much is modernised on the way. The assessment cost-models each workload and gives you a written timeline by phase before you commit, with a rollback plan for each move.
What happens if a migration phase fails?
It is rolled back. Every phase has a tested rollback plan before it starts, and nothing moves to the next phase until the current one is signed off. That is what phased migration means in our contract, and the plan for each phase is written down before work begins.
Can we migrate without downtime?
It depends on the workload. Some move with a short cutover, while others need a planned outage window. The plan names the window for each workload, agreed in writing with the business before the phase starts. Every phase also has a rollback plan, tested before the cutover begins.
Should we modernise applications or move them as they are?
It depends on the application. Moving as is suits workloads that run well today and need to move quickly. Modernising suits those that cost too much or scale badly as they are. The assessment recommends one route per workload, in writing, with the cost of each.

What we put in writing
- The written findings are yours whether we ever work together or not.
- Each phase is fixed-scope and signed off separately.
- You can stop at any phase boundary.
- Runbooks, configurations and credentials are yours.
