Intelligent document processing for Indian documents.

Intelligent document processing (IDP) for Indian enterprises whose forms, invoices and contracts still arrive as PDFs and scans and are typed in by hand. NetScale proves extraction on the organisation’s own documents, then builds the pipeline that classifies, extracts and routes them. Whichever way the proof goes, the result is written down and stays with them.

Three fields are extracted in turn: the supplier is read, the GSTIN’s format is checked, and the HSN or SAC code is marked unsure. The unsure field goes to an approval step, where a person approves it. Then the fields are written to the system of record.InvoiceSupplierGSTINHSN or SACReadFormat checkedUnsureCheckedApproval stepGoes to a personApprovedSystem of recordSystem of record

What it is

Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)

Intelligent document processing (IDP) is software that reads PDFs, scans and email attachments, classifies each document and extracts the fields you need.

It replaces the step where someone types those fields in by hand. Contract analysis applies the same reading to agreements: parties, dates, prices and renewal terms. Copilots and knowledge assistants answer questions from your own documents and show the source behind each answer.

Accuracy is measured on your documents as they arrive, not on a clean sample. A field the model is unsure of goes to a person before it reaches a system of record.

Moving each case through the process once its documents are read sits under Intelligent automation (RPA + AI).

Checking purchase and sales documents against each other before payment sits under DocInflow document audit.

Chatbots for customers and staff, built into your own applications, sit under Custom AI and GenAI solutions.

What we do.

Data extraction from PDFs, contract analysis and auto-classification, plus custom copilots and knowledge assistants.

  1. 01

Data extraction from PDFs and scans

Fields read from PDFs, scans and attachments, checked against your rules and written into your ERP or document store, with uncertain fields sent for review.

  2. 02

    Contract analysis

Parties, dates, prices, renewal terms and obligations pulled from agreements, so each can be searched, compared and tracked to its renewal date.

  3. 03

    Auto-classification

Incoming documents identified by type and sender, split where one file holds several, and sent to the right queue or system.

  4. 04

    Copilots and knowledge assistants

Assistants that answer from your own policies, contracts and manuals, show the source behind each answer and see only what the user may see.

  5. 05

    Content generation pipelines

Summaries, letters and reports drafted from your own documents and data, with a person approving each draft before it is sent or filed.

A NetScale venture

DocInflow

Part of Data extraction from PDFs and scans

DocInflow is our own venture, built for manufacturers, exporters, distributors and retailers. It reads purchase orders, invoices, delivery notes, contracts and shipping papers and cross-checks them against each other. It holds any payment where the numbers disagree.

It sits alongside your bank, your Tally or BUSY, and your existing systems. The pilot is one working session: bring one month of purchase orders, invoices and receipts, and leave with the list of every mismatch.

What it covers

  • Procure-to-pay
  • Order-to-cash
  • Record-to-report
  • Trade finance and export

How an engagement runs.

One document, inbox to system of record, drawn three times.

A path from documents to system of record, through extraction, fields and approval step. Assess marks: poor scans; fields to extract. Deliver adds: a proof on your sample; each document type in turn. Operate adds: new layouts checked; uncertain fields routed.

India specifics and cost.

India specifics

  • Indian paperwork

Extraction is proved on your own GST invoices, delivery challans and KYC documents, in the layouts and scan quality they arrive in. Fields such as the GSTIN and HSN or SAC codes are checked against their format before they are posted.

  • Data residency

Documents, the data extracted from them and the models that read them can stay in Microsoft Azure’s India regions. The region is written into the design.

  • DPDP

For the personal data in KYC and application documents, the DPDP Rules list encryption or masking among the safeguards due from 13 May 2027. The pipeline masks what the process does not need and stores only the fields it uses. Legal interpretation stays with your counsel.

What drives the cost

  1. 01

Document types, and how many layouts each arrives in.

  2. 02

Scan quality: born-digital PDFs, scans or phone photos.

  3. 03

Fields to extract from each document, and the checks each must pass.

  4. 04

Monthly volume, and the systems the extracted data is written into.

What is intelligent document processing?

IDP is software that turns documents into data: it reads PDFs, scans and email attachments, works out what each one is, and extracts the fields a process needs. Uncertain fields go to a person. The measure that matters is how often it is right on your own documents, which is what the proof tests.

How accurate is IDP on our documents?

It depends on your documents, which is why the proof runs on them rather than a demo set. Accuracy is measured field by field on a sample of your real documents, poor scans included, and written down. We do not quote a figure before that, and the result stays with you either way.

How is IDP different from DocInflow?

IDP is built for whatever documents you hold. DocInflow is our own venture for purchase, sales and export paperwork. Where your documents are orders, invoices, receipts and shipping papers, DocInflow already reads and cross-checks them, so we use it rather than build it again. For claims, KYC files, forms and reports, we build IDP.

Can IDP read poor-quality scans?

It depends on the scans, so the proof tests your documents as they arrive, poor copies included. The written result says which document types and fields it reads reliably and which still need a person. Those go to review rather than straight into a system of record, until the accuracy on them is good enough.

Can staff ask questions of our own documents?

Yes, through a knowledge assistant that answers from the documents you choose, such as policies, contracts and manuals. It shows the source behind each answer and is set up to see only what the person asking may see. Answers are tested on your own questions before staff rely on them.

Run a proof on your documents.

It costs nothing and commits you to nothing. You get a written list of where your IT environment is exposed, and your team can act on it with or without us.

What we put in writing

  1. The written findings are yours whether we ever work together or not.
  2. Each phase is fixed-scope and signed off separately.
  3. You can stop at any phase boundary.
